Love One Another (outline only) July 17, 2005 John Chapman
37Jesus
replied, “‘You must
love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ 38This is the first and greatest
commandment. 39A second is equally important: ‘Love your
neighbor as yourself.’

Ghost Town
Tour, Little Stronghold,
Too often we limit our definition of worship to: “Listening to the preacher bring the message.”
16Let
the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and
admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and
spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
17Whatever you do in word or deed, do
all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.
Worship is our response to God…Who He is and how He impacts our lives…in
Word
Song
Everything we do
A challenge to us as adults….
Old School: Sermon is the only thing that
matters.
Talking during singing is OK.
Sometimes I
look out at the congregation – see people not singing=not worshipping, looking
like they don’t care
VS.
The Bible
says:
“God is spirit, and those who
worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
Worship is
also described in
1Therefore I urge you, brethren,
by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice,
acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.
Observations:
Fire Tunnel (praying for
each other as they come through the line, and
then
having them pray for you as you go through the line)–
humbling
Prayer Stations – broken
before the Lord as we realize he went through so
much more
than we have.
Final service –
confessing & “Dad & Mom” (a long line of kids waiting to
receive a
hug from a “surrogate” mom or dad that either has not
been there or has hurt them)
Spiritual Challenge (to us!): Go deeper in your
relationship with God.
SACRIFICE, SUBMIT, SELL OUT TO HIM!
Financial Challenge: Tonight – we’re
taking an offering to help with the money we spent:
$700 for the van
$400 for the orphanage
And, by the
way, we’re going back July 30 (?) to the Orphanage…we need more paint ($100+),
we want to help with their roof (seal with elastimer),
etc.
We could
use your help both physically and financially….and tonight the kids are going
to share from their hearts….
10 Create in me a clean heart,
O God. CLEAN –
CONFESS
Renew a right spirit
within me. RENEW-FILL
UP
11 Do not banish me from
your presence,
and
don’t take your Holy Spirit from me.
12 Restore to me again
the joy of your salvation,
and
make me willing to obey you. HELP
WITH OBEDIENCE
13 Then I will teach your
ways to sinners, WITNESS
and
they will return to you.
14 Forgive me for
shedding blood, O God who saves; CONFESSION,
THEN
then
I will joyfully sing of your forgiveness. WORSHIP
THRU SONG
15 Unseal my lips, O
Lord,
that
I may praise you.
16 You would not be
pleased with sacrifices,
or
I would bring them.
If I brought you a
burnt offering,
you
would not accept it.
17 The sacrifice you want
is a broken spirit. BROKEN
HEART=BROKEN EGO
A broken and repentant
heart, O God, BROKEN PRIDE
you will not despise.
